September 22 2008 - Go-karting with the Stars:
Ruscitti uses TAG World Championships to prep for Las Vegas
The 14-year old Canadian is currently ranked fifth in the Stars of Karting Circuit and is preparing for the Stars Finals in Las Vegas next month.
One way for the young driver to get ready for October's final was Sunday's TAG World Championships at the Grand Junction Motor Speedway.
Ruscitti ran well finishing second in the Juniors final and winning the IAME final.
"It has been a lot of fun," Ruscitti said. "I didn't think the competition was going to be that great here, but it has been really good."
Ruscitti is from Vancover and began go-kart racing when he was eight. He joined the Stars at age 10 and has continued to grow as a driver.
"The first two years didn't go well but in year two, I got the pole in Toronto and it has just been getting better since then," Ruscitti said. "This race was a late entry for us, but we want to get ready for the Stars finals."
Ruscitti is accompanied to the races by his crew chief/pit crew/father, Giovanni.
"The stars is a really grueling circuit," Giovanni said. "It is the best drivers from everywhere. Jamaica, Italy, Germany and it is pretty special."
Ruscitti showed his talent in the IAME race. The IAME is a unique style of racing that begins with a start where the drivers position their cars at an angle, start on the other side of the track then once the green flag is dropped the drivers run across the track, jump in their cars and take off.
It is a 20 lap race and every five laps the drivers get a yellow flag, regroup and have a restart.
Ruscitti was the last driver out of the blocks at the beginning but regained the time and spent most of the race in the lead finishing nearly four seconds ahead of James Cary.
"(The IAME) is a pretty fun race," Remo said. "(The regroups) are important if you are behind, but when you're leading it's not a great thing."
Local racer Sabre Cook pushed Ruscitti in both the juniors race and the IAME, finishing first in the juniors for the second straight year. She also was riding in second in the IAME before a late lap spinout forced a fifth place finish.
Giovanni said he has been impressed with the competition at the World Championships.
"We came here thinking it was going to be a glorified club race but I was really surprised with the talent," Giovanni said. "There are at least five drivers here that could race in Stars easily."
Other top finisher were AJ Whisler winning the Senior final, Killian Keaveny taking the Cadet 1 and the IAME cadets. Tate Holleran won the Cadet 2 and David Zippie winning the IAME Challenge.
"It has been a great weekend with a lot of good racing," Grand Junction Speedway owner Darren Cook said.

June 22nd 2008 - Remo Leads in Points
Stars of Karting Championship point's leader, Remo Ruscitti, looked to maintain momentum arriving in Indiana. Qualifying was down to the wire with the top ten separated by less than half a second.
Ruscitti would find himself in the 9th position. Claiming fastest lap in both heat races along with a second and sixth place finish. Ruscitti bumped himself up to a 4th place starting position for both Finals, he was then able to get a great start in the first final, unfortunately a fellow competitor forced Ruscitti to the outside where he lost several positions but still finished in the 9th position.
The second final would find Ruscitti right in the thick of the battle. Trading positions throughout the race Ruscitti would cross the line in 7th to claim two top ten finishes and still leading the points race.

May 14th 2008 - Problems in Utah for Remo
An incorrect setup resulted in a 12th qualifying position in the hotly contested Jica Class.
The pre-finals proved to be quite chaotic as Ruscitti found himself with no place to go on several of the starts. Determined, Ruscitti was able to find more speed as the weekend progressed. Sunday would do no justice to Ruscitti's efforts. Once again battling back after a pile up in turn one which put him back to 26th position. Remo battled back to finish 13th.

April 7th 2008 - Remo Wins Big at Ocala Grand Prix, Stars of Karting
Remo scores huge on opening round of Stars Of Karting, brings it home with a 1st place Victory and a Top five on the second final to bring him to the top of the Charts in points.
It didn't come easy with six 15 minute practice sessions on Friday which brought him to second fastest of the day, a qualifying session and three heat races to follow which scored Remo three top five finishes and placed him at P3 for the two finals. This was a great win for Remo and a great way to start the 2008 year with the Stars of Karting circuit.
Remo travels to Utah at the end of the month for round one of the Western Championships of Stars. Special thanks to Italian Motors staff, Claudio Valiante and Team Manager Coach Michael Valiante, success would not have been without them.
